Pastor Allen has been the Senior Pastor at Verona Baptist Church for 15 years. He has a passion to serve, share the gospel, reach the lost, and help believers mature in Christ. He is committed to building stronger families and the community. Every week He communicates the word of God with passion and practical application. He believes God can use the local church to bring hope to a broken world.
 
He is married to Tammy Murphy Powell. They have been married for 43 years and have two daughters and three grandchildren. He is a graduate of Richlands High School and Coastal Carolina Community College. He also studied at Patriot Bible University. His favorite bible verse is Ps 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
